Curriculum
At Oranges and Lemons our Early Years Curriculum is broad, ambitious, challenging, unique and planned with new experiences to excite our children.
Our curriculum starts with the children at the centre of all that we do.
Our curriculum enables each child to develop socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically, creatively and intellectually to their full potential.
Each child is valued as an individual and teaching and learning is based on the understanding that children develop at different rates and have different needs and interests.
Every day is different at Oranges and Lemons and each day children have the opportunity to take part in a mixture of child led play and more focused adult led activities. Children get the opportunity to play both in larger groups and smaller groups as well as embracing one to one activities in our setting which enables us to really get to know our children. We have a very high staff to child ratio which benefits our children greatly.
Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation stage which provides a framework covering the seven areas of learning for both inside and outside play.

The curriculum at Oranges and Lemons is also influenced from a variety of learning philosophies including Reggio Emilia and Forest School We take the best influences from each philosophy and embed them into our own unique curriculum.
We have an enhanced curriculum here at Oranges and Lemons with many extra curricular activities including, forest school, drama, music, cooking, gardening, Spanish club, Science, Ict, yoga, sport, dance.
We work very closely with our parents in partnership to support their child’s learning and development when they are part of the Oranges and Lemons family.
At Oranges and Lemons we give children a magical experience by inspiring their natural curiosity and awe and wonder at the world around them.
We aim to engage and nurture our children at Oranges and Lemons so they leave us as happy, emotionally intelligent, independent children who are curious, interested and have enquiring minds for their next stage in development.
